Pension Scheme fro JNV Staff

On Thursday, Government decided to amend the Payment of Gratuity Act to Teachers.

In another decision, the Cabinet gave its nod for introduction of a new Pension Scheme to all regular employees of the Navodaya Vidyalayas. The new scheme would come into effect after the date of notification.

The JNV employees would have the option to go in for the new scheme or continue with the existing Contributory Provident Fund (CPF) scheme. In case the employee joins the new scheme, the accumulated amount in his or her CPF account would be transferred to pension fund under the new scheme.

The service of all new Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti employees will become pensionable.

Application forms available for Navodaya Vidyalaya

In a press release, JNV Samiti announced that application forms are now available for the admission to Navaodaya schools for class 6th.

There are 575 navodaya schools in India, admission is based on the admission test conducted by CBSE.

Selection test will be conducted on February 8th, 2009.

Test will be of two hours with 100 objective type questions.

50 questions - Mental Ability
25 questions - Arithmetic test
25 questions - Language test.


Eligibility: Candidates studying in class 5th in the academic year 2008-09 can apply for the test.

Last date to submit the application is September 30, 2008.

NIC CAMP AT JNV Shahkoot - Kashmir

A National Integration Camp at Jawahar Navodaya Vidlaya Shahkoot was recently organized.

This 7-day camp has been organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Baramula to inculcate spirit of brotherhood, patriotism, tolerance and communal amity among the youth.

Young Leaders from West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bangalore, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir are participating in the camp.
