Dakshana Foundation - Helping Navodians Achieve their true potential

Bengaluru based Dakshana Foundation has announced results for its third batch of JNV Dakshana Scholars, the batch came through with flying colours achieved exceeds expectations results.

 

Out of 50 Dakshana Scholars in the batch, 37 qualified in the IIT-JEE merit list , an impressive 74% success rate, in earlier years the rate was mere 21-31%.

 

This two years free education by Dakshana foundation provided at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Bengaluru by using classroom lectures.

 

Dakshana’s topper secured an IIT-JEE All-India ST rank of 15. His mother is illiterate and his father is retired with a monthly pension of Rs. 3000, Dakshana’s second rank scholar secured an IIT-JEE All-India ST rank of 18, with five siblings and a single impoverished father (his mother passed away) barely eking out Rs. 1000 a month as a farmer.

 

Dakshana’s coaching partner, T.I.M.E., at JNV Bengaluru, teaches scholars with intensively coaching techniques. The Dakshana foundation has a strong relationship and MoU with the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) whereby Dakshana screens and selects the most promising JNV students for intensive preparation and coaching for the IIT-JEE.

 

The 593 JNVs nationwide graduate over 30,000 students every year. Historically, only a small handful of them have made it to IIT. The Dakshana-JNV partnership is all about creating a level playing field where brilliant students from rural, impoverished families can reach their full potential.

More navodians cracking IIT, Thanks to Bhabha Super 35

The various Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are breaking records and setting new benchmark in education each year, whats more promising is that these students, are from poor family and can acquire the platform which no other institute can provide.

Recent it was revealed that 24 students of Bhabha Super-35 (which functions like Bihar's Super 30) cracked the prestigious Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) out of a batch of 35, most of whom had studied at a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya.

Bhabha Super 35's students are taught the basics of maths, science and chemistry. This platform helps students crack the JEE.

In fact, few of the tutors in Bhabha Super 35 are JNV Alumni, these students attributed their success to the teachers of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.

These students from various background where their parents are mostly daily wage labours, farmers or a normal earning peasants, have made their parents and families proud.

Recently, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas topped the CBSE 12th chart with around 97-98%.

JNV Topped CBSE 12th Results

Students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya again topped the chat, with impressive 96.89 per cent of them passing the CBSE 2011 12th exam.

The pass percentage of schools under Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan stood at 93.38. The pass percentage of government schools stood at 83.98 and Government aided schools at 79.54. The pass percentage of private schools stood at 45.41 per cent.

This year, over 81 per cent students cleared the Class XII examinations and girls once again outshining the boys.

Girls pass percentage was 86.93 as compared to that of boys at 77.83 per cent.
